What is Asbestosis?
Asbestosis is a medical condition of a chronic nature. It affects and scars the tissues of the lungs, and happens after long-term exposure to asbestos. Common in miners, Asbestosis is often a precursor to several types of lung cancer. People with Asbestosis have significant to severe shortness of breath, often leading to respiratory failure.

How is Asbestosis treated?
There is no known cure for Asbestosis. Receiving oxygen therapy can help alleviate the shortness of breath. Therapy to help remove secretions from the lungs may be helpful, as are the use of medications administered by nebulizers.
