What is ARDS (or Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome)?
ARDS, also known as adult respiratory distress syndrome, or simply respiratory distress syndrome, is your body's reaction to injuries to the lung, or lungs. It is a very serious condition that can lead to multiple organ failure. Patients often have to be put on a ventilator, and may need intensive care.

If you or someone you know has ARDS, you need immediate medical attention.

How is ARDS treated?
Patients are often admitted to a hospital's Intensive Care Unit and placed on mechanical ventilation (a ventilator). Antibiotic therapy is often employed, and finding the source of the infection is imperative.

Make an appointment with Dr. Garg so he can help you find out a) if you have ARDS and b) what you can do to combat its effect.
